The SharkDolphin

I signed Adele up for swim lessons FINALLY this month. Her first lesson was 2 weeks ago and I had her put into the level one preschool class. As beginner as you can get without me having to haul my big preggo bootie into the pool with her. Not so sure that was a good idea considering how bored she is. LOL I mean she LOVES LOVES "swim school" but I don't think she's really learning much in the lessons dept.

For Instance: Skills you learn in the Level One Preschool Class
(1) being able to get into the pool by yourself.
Adele the first week rushed into the pool with her teacher running after her, She was about 4ft into chest deep water by the time he got to her. Which shocked us all since the only pool experience she's had is our kiddie pool in the backyard and some trips to the splash pool last summer
(2) child will feel comfortable getting face wet
Again first week the teacher was teaching the little kids how to get their hair wet or blow bubbles. He dunked his head under once to show them it wasn't scary. Adele followed suit by also going completely under.......about 20 times.
(3) Child begins to learn how to float on back for 10+ seconds
Ya Adele gets way upset when she has to wait her turn to float on her back with the teacher. She likes to pretend she's a mermaid.
(4) can jump into an adults arms off the side of the pool
Last week Adele jumped into the pool by HERSELF when she got tired of waiting for her turn with the teacher. This is in the deeper section of the pool so i'm VERY glad the teacher noticed when she jumped.

This brings me to another thought. I'm the only parent allowed to sit on the benches right next to the pool. The other parents are instructed to go upstairs to the overlooking balcony to watch their children. But me, no no no i'm just fine sitting by the pool. They know my daughter is insane and needs an extra pair of eyes watching her at all times. I think she's going to give me an ulcer and I pray she learns how to swim SOON!
