This!
Adele wasn't going to bed very easily at night so we decided to take away her last nap. Now the girl LOVES her nap. She goes down at about 2pm and usually sleeps until 5ish so it was quite a nice break for both of us. But alas her going to bed before 11pm was more important to mommy.
This picture was actually taken about a week after taking her nap away. She just could not stay awake during dinner time. We finally just decided to force her to eat a banana before putting her to bed. My poor sleepy bear!

Awwww...poor sleepy thing! Hope she's adjusting well. :0)
Aw!!!
We had the same problem with Little Boy. He loved his nap and took a great one, but had trouble going to bed at night. So we took away the nap and had the same problem you do..he was SO tired early evening! So, we moved his bedtime very early. He now goes to bed at 6:30pm. It's lovely and he gets all the sleep he needs! I highly suggest it! (and so does Dr. Weissbluth..author of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child)!
Amen to Dr Weissbluth--we're big fans fo the sleep book. Our little guy is going on 10 months and he consistently sleeps 6:30 to 6:30 with two daytime naps. It's wonderful.
I've started giving the sleep book, along with some jammies at every baby shower. Giving the gift of sleep... :)
Thats an awesome idea for a baby shower gift!
I'd move her bedtime up but DH gets home from work at 6pm. :(
Maybe we can cut down on the playing with daddy time and get her IN bed by 7:30-8ish
Maybe that's what I need to do with my 2 1/2 year old girl! She just can't seem to get to sleep until 11pm! That doesn't leave very much time for me and my hubby! I seriously am going to try to the whole "take the nap away" technique! It's going to be hard because that's mommy time, but so worth it if she goes to bed earlier! Thanks! You have a cute blog! I'll seriously have to come back and visit it more!
